ACT 3 NO LONGER SUPPORTED
Upgrade to act 4, you weakling.

The patch in this thread is the final patch for Act 3.

Act 4 basic battle data patch eta 8/24.
Act 4 story patch eta "whenever it gets done"

SEE THIS POST FOR THE LATEST/LAST ACT 3 PATCH

-----------------------

Alright, not really -that- different

http://bmw.seiha.org/bmw_englishV0_95.zip

I changed the way this'll work. In there are replacement .dats for the textual files and the patch just changes the graphical files. Since Werk's patches don't ever touch the graphical files, this "patch doesn't work" nonsense should be over and done with. Yeah, versioning will be slightly more of an issue, and the memory load of the patch is a little higher, but whatever. Fewer headaches overall.

If you've already patched it in any way, you just need the dats in there. Feel free to run the graphics patch, but I'd expect it to do nothing.

What's not finished

  • The script for stages 32-36 (sorry 26-31 took so long. Life got in the way)
  • Any sort of translation checking at all... Ha HA!
  • Typos, editing, formatting, etc. A couple people have looked over things, but rigorously... no. Point me towards any typos or other issues (like if I left a testing variable in there again... *sigh*) and I'll fix them immediately.
  • The exe is still the old version (memory leak, music bug on ingame-save loading, a couple minor untranslated popups)
  • Kaleido Ruby is incorrectly unavailable on stage 31TS and on the 31/32 intermission status screen (see below).
  • After a few of the late game stages (notably 30 and 31), you're awarded items. This looks like it's handled by the exe (ie, I can't do much about it at the moment), but I haven't really tried to track it down yet. That's all the messages are. Just check your inventory.

Concerning Kaleido Ruby:
This is Werk's fault for handling her weirdly. She's tied to Rin, but there are actually two Rins. One has Kaleido Ruby activated and has the Jewel Sword, and the other is the basic Rin. Kaleido Ruby becomes available on stage 30, but Rin doesn't get the Jewel Sword until 32CA, so they don't 'switch' Rins until 32CS. I'd just need to make a third Rin with Kaleido Ruby checked and the basic Rin's weapons. Shouldn't be hard, but it's low priority.

Concerning Unlocking Satsuki:
Satsuki is an unlockable character ONLY on Takumi's path at the end of stage 29. You have to have killed her at least twice with Shiki on the previous stages where you fight her (5, 20, and 21). She's not available at all (except on stage 26) of Haruna's path. I might be tempted to change that at some point, since it -is- possible to get the required number of Shiki-Sacchin kills on Haruna's path, but the variable never gets set. Werk may putz with that in act 4 anyway.

Concerning the Futsuno Mitama
I also rethought my decision to generalize Takumi's sword and it's been renamed back to Futsuno. It takes until stage 31T before they explain it, but they eventually do... so... whatever. Check the new thread about Futsuno/Kanesada if you're curious about the actual historical weapon.

Whew. I think that's everything for now.

Nicely done. You finished, and I appreciated. I really must thank you. Like common people.

Now then, I should see if your new way is good.

So, I just have to replace the old dat. files with the new ones from your download, yes?

Ah, good work. I don't really care about KR Rin so that doesn't bother me.

Heh, but it looks like I won't be getting Satsuki this time around.

I have a question. When you fight Archer and he unleashes UBW, why did you put "Shirou Emiya" instead of "Emiya Shirou" like he always says in Fate? Even though it would mean the same thing, but couldn't you put it like how they would actually say it?

Because his given name is Shirou and his family name is Emiya.

I know that, but Archer would always call him by "Emiya Shirou" since it's Japanese formality(in its way) Wouldn't you use that instead? I mean using their way of speaking.

Pretend you have real bad dyslexia.

*cough*

Or edit the dat files yourself. Razz It's not hard~ There's a thread in which I posted how to extract them, and I forget which button recompiles them but it's relatively easy to make your own.

I've written over all the dat files included on the zip file. But when I try to run the ver9 exe file, the message window states that I have currently installed the latest english version. Have I done something wrong, or is it that if my version is currently 8, then I only need to copy the dat files, and the version 9 installer is simply for a fresh installation?

Hope you can enlighten me on this, thanks!

Yeah, you only need the 9 installer on a fresh installation. Otherwise replacing the dats/stuff is enough.

No. I've been westernizing it since day 1. You missed the boat on this one.

As far as Satsuki goes, when the Haruna route hits the point where the group comes back together, does the dialog ever actually mention she was killed? I was always wondering if there was a possibility she'd return in part 4 Haruna, and that Takumi's just able to get her sooner (been known to happen in some SRW games, where one route split gets you extra stuff sooner than others, especially in Alpha 3). But you know, not knowing moonspeak's always left that a mystery to me. Frankly, I and I'm sure many others would love a little mod to allow her in Haruna's route, assuming it doesn't overtly say she'd dead and that Werk didn't plan to put her in Pt 4 Haruna.

If you have that far translated, can you clear that up? If she's mentioned to be killed in Haruna route or anything like that? As it is without knowing the conversations, she just shows up in stage 26, and never seen again as far as the Haruna route is concerned. Really just more of a curiosity, though I would be sorta miffed if Haruna gets denied a secret when Takumi gets someone as stupidly awesome as Sacchin (I like Haruna better, Takumi is unimpressive as a Super compared to other options in my opinion).

There's something untranslated in Haruna's stage 30. I don't know what it is or what triggers it, but a box like the one that pops up when you get masteries showed up before the intermission screen.
No screen for now, sorry.

She MIGHT come back in Haruna's Route in the next act. But as far as Takumi's, if you don't get her the secret way, she's dead.

Note her words.

Shiki:Yumizuka-San, you're fading away!!

Satsuki: Tohno-Kun, you're hands are warm.

Blah Blah Blah and finally.

Satsuki:Goodbye, Tohno-Kun.

Shiki: Yumizuka-San!!

"BOOM"

Yeah, she's not coming back from that. If she does, I'll be ridiculously surprised.
